Abstract: As we all know last year in August 2018, South Indian State Kerala was suffering from the worst flood of the year in all over India. In this flood, Kerala lost around 400 life and 33,000 people lost their homes and got rescued by the team to rescue camps. It was not just human, animals, forests, etc. also suffered from the flood. In this circumstance Aluva (a Peri-urban area in Ernakulam district of Kerala) also one of the places which were suffering from the flood. As its geographical location makes it more vulnerable for a flood due to its location on the bank of the Periyar river which is the longest river in Kerala. Surrounded by the Periyar river on four sides the village was almost submerged in water. So, the aim of the thesis is to design a settlement in Aluva village for villagers so that they should not suffer from the flood in future. As well as settlement should be regenerative in nature so that it can self-heal itself after the flood and become active as soon as possible for a normal lifestyle at the end of the project the flood should not become a problem of disaster for villagers but it should become a part of their life for a few days in rainy season I would like to say flood will become a season for villages not a disaster for villages. The project requirement is to accommodate 100 houses with a community school and rescue camp for villagers.
