The Heterotopia

Abstract

The thesis project is a proposal Interpretation of comics into architecture. The site is in Pune India and has an International Convention Centre Proposed on it. The project is a hypothetical project on real site. The project is about the experience if a user in a space and enhancing that experience using technology and architectural elements. It tries to take the elders back to their childhood as the comics relate to the childhood of most people. It tries to give an insight of the development of comics and the teachings that most of us have missed along the line of history. The project actually creates a heterotopic world where they realise an alternate world which has a reflection of the real world with the philosophies of the world attached to it. The proposal has majorly two buildings - The main Interpretation Centre and The Entertainment Centre. The methodology for the project was about the case studies of Interpretation Centres and museums along with papers regarding the feel of a space and experience of people in different environments. Study of physical interpretation of feelings and emotions in architecture. The entertainment centre is majorly focussed on the play activities of children and interesting environments from movies and comics. Whereas the interpretation centre is specifically based on the philosophies of comics and tours through the history and feeling giving different environments to the person. This has been done to provide the reader with a clear concise idea of how the whole thesis was conceived from the starting to the end.
