Abstract: | Public spaces are the breathing spaces of the city. There are open as well as built spaces in the city as a public space. They should have quality of social interaction and engagement of people. Social interaction between people help in forming healthy relationships and sense of belongingness between people. All the spaces should be designed in a way so that these spaces can themselves elevate the social interaction. In cities there are open as well as built public spaces, socio-cultural center is one of a kind. In Cities, especially in corporate cities and developed one the people are very busy in their lives. Public spaces are the space that can provide leisure and quality time on weekends. People can connect with the city through these spaces. This thesis is an attempt to create a social and public space which will provide inclusive social space to all communities in the city and a congregational spaces to the people of the city. It is done on the basis of characteristics of context and people. Public spaces can become filter of the city and a breathing lung. It can create essence of city over a period of time if it will do progress and grow with time. Its continuity will bring spirit of a place in place as well as in surrounding context also. |
