Abstract: The beginning of the 21st Century marked the step of the mankind into more developed and advanced use of technology. The adequate use of internet and the introduction of the smart phones in our lives played a major role transforming our lifestyle in such a way that in the current pandemic situation we don’t even have to step outside our houses everything and every facility is instantly available on our fingertips without any hustle. This development of technology made us believe that everything is possible. One of the major changes that this technological intervention is brought is in the way we buy or sell goods. The roll and the development of the e-commerce is increasing exponentially day by day. It is not only restricted to the major cities of India but it’s diving deep into the remote corners of the country as well. Further, if we narrow down our e-commerce platforms there is also a development field of the C2C e-commerce platforms where the users not only can buy the goods but can also sell them being a buy as well as the seller at the same time. But as it is said with great power comes great responsibility and with great responsibility comes a great threat. Similar is the case with online C2C platforms. Since the user is the ultimate king of the platform, they are open to various threats of fraudsters and online scam that degrade the value of such platforms and make it less reliable and authentic. The credibility of such platforms is further questioned more the products sold and mostly second hand and the person selling the same is unknown and lack any of the brand trust or the sellers’ diligence. Perhaps, the buyer has no idea about the quality of the product or the identity of the seller and vice versa. Therefore, through this project I have tried to understand the function of an online C2C platform especially in the contexts of the second-hand goods and what type of online scams are prevailing on such platforms. Further on devising a way through some design interventions to control such scams on the platform. Thus, enhancing their experience.
