Development of Tourism infrastructure for Bodhgaya

Abstract

Bodhgaya is located strategically between major tourist destinations. “But unfortunately, the city has not been able to capitalize from its good connectivity, so the need for accessing tourism infrastructure for the growing number of tourists is very important to further development of the city as a major tourism hub’’. The key to the development of a good tourism destination is infrastructure. Tourism industry stimulates investment in new infrastructure, most of which improves local residents' living conditions, as well as tourism. It may include development of Airport, road, cultural monuments, museum and accommodation, hotel, restaurant, etc. Development of tourism / religious spots will enhance the cultural as well as economic aspects of the city. The purpose of this study is to explore the infrastructure required for the development of tourism. Analyze the impact of transport network on the development of tourism. Poor condition of roads serves as a hindrance for the tourist in terms connectivity. No provision for safety of tourist. “The history of Bihar Indicates a rich heritage from various dynasties & great personalities. It has immense Potential for tourism activities like religious, tourism heritage tourism, natural tourism. Apart from that, the wildlife, birds & sanctuaries hold vast potential for ecotourism. But, the tourism potential of the state for generating much needed income & employment remains under-utilized. The effective development, operation and Management of tourism require certain institutional elements, such as legislation and regulation, standard and licensing requirements’’. The Aim of the study is to propose infrastructure for the promotion of tourism. Followed by the objectives: To find out the required infrastructure for the development of tourism. Analysis of existing tourism infrastructure of the study area. The study of existing scenario of tourism destination and identification of Social infrastructure development indicators. Identification of gap in existing infrastructure service provision. Development of infrastructure, improved quality of service and initiatives will provide benefits to the tourist as well as the stakeholder ad developer. To propose the required infrastructure for exploration of potential of tourist place. To bridge the Gaps in Infrastructure at city level a Site plan is proposed. Another proposal deals with making a tourist Infrastructure Plan within the city in such a way so that it covers up all the tourist sites and provide better accessibility along and, within all-attractive facility. Hence, Plan to cater the gap that exists in the development of the Tourism sector in the city, so that it would facilitate the tourism development.
