dc.description.abstract | Urbanisation is a phenomenon that is synonymous to all growing cities, common characteristic features being – urban densification and urban sprawl. Urbanisation is unavoidable but unplanned agglomerations are. This thesis project proposes a probable variation of planned urbanisation that is sensitive to the needs of the community and the site context. The thesis model follows the live-work-play concept of the mixed use development, whereby the living, working and recreational spaces are planned within walk able distances.
