dc.description.abstractThe Global Skills Park (GSP) in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, emerges as a critical response to the pressing need for advanced technical and vocational education and training (TVET) facilities in India. Against the backdrop of rapid technological advancements and evolving industry demands, there exists a palpable gap between the skills possessed by the workforce and those required by the contemporary job market. As evidenced by the provided data, while 34.2% of ITI students secured employment by 2023, a significant portion remained unutilized. Similarly, 57.44% of engineering students found employment, leaving a substantial percentage unemployed. This glaring disparity underscores the significance of initiatives like GSP, which aim to bridge this gap by providing internationally recognized skills training to aspiring professionals. The essence of GSP lies not only in its ambition to equip individuals with job-ready skills but also in its vision to elevate the standards of technical education on a global scale. As such, the meticulous design and construction of the Centre of Occupational Skill Acquisition (COSA- 1) within GSP hold profound implications for the future of TVET in India. By embracing the concept of a living building, this thesis embarks on a transformative journey to conceptualize and implement architectural strategies that not only cater to the immediate needs of GSP but also set a precedent for sustainable educational infrastructure across the nation. Through the integration of innovative elements such as expansive courtyards, versatile spillout multipurpose spaces, and cutting-edge heat mitigation techniques, the project endeavours to create a dynamic and conducive learning environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and experiential learning. By evaluating the efficacy of these strategies within the context of GSP, this study seeks to not only address the immediate challenges faced by TVET centres but also pave the way for a more sustainable and future-ready educational landscape in India.
