Abstract: The Shekhawati region serves as a poignant symbol of the delicate balance at which its architectural legacy currently stands. Recognized as the "Open Air Art Gallery of the World," this area boasts a wealth of historical and ecological heritage, both finite and fragile. To address both the tangible and intangible dimensions of this rich legacy, an Interpretation Centre has been proposed. This center aims to unravel the history and heritage of Shekhawati. Situated on the outskirts of the historic town of Laxmangarh in Sikar, within the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, the project site carries a profound historical significance. Once governed by the Shekhawat Rajputs, the region derived its name from this ruling dynasty. The challenging climatic conditions of Shekhawati have fostered a rich tradition of ecological wisdom, particularly in efficient water management and rainwater harvesting. These practices, deeply embedded in the local heritage, play a crucial role in preserving the habitats of this region.
