The project is a culmination of two different thesis projects combined to form a cohesive structure that caters to the growth of knowledge, the sharing of ideas, and the showcasing of talents. These projects add a cultural layer to the business aspect of the project. Envisioned as a convention and performing arts centre, the project is proposed in Muttukadu, Chennai, addressing the growing need for a space with large-scale facilities, as the existing structures do not support large-scale events. The design follows the concept of Rasa theory, which aims to evoke emotions in users through the built space. By applying this concept, the building is designed to explore and evoke different emotions, providing varied experiences as one navigates through the space. The structure meets the diverse needs of the project requirements, housing meeting rooms, conference halls, auditoriums, a concert hall, and an experimental theatre. Given the massive scale of the project, a structural system that complements the space is necessary. A space frame in the shape of a shell has been chosen, resonating with both the context and the type of project envisioned under the Rasa theory. This space represents my exploration of how to bring together different typologies in a single space, and here is the compilation of that effort.en_US
