| Abstract: | Tourism in Odisha, particularly in the Puri-Konark-Bhubaneswar corridor, continues to grow due to its cultural, religious, and natural richness. Yet, tourist engagement remains limited to temple visits and coastal experiences, leaving Odisha’s intangible heritage underrepresented. This thesis proposes a Tourism, Cultural, and Experience Hub in Puri, 3 km from the coast, to bridge this gap by showcasing lesser-known arts, crafts, and traditions through immersive experiences. The project envisions an inclusive space featuring craft workshops, performances, exhibitions, and local cuisine within a culturally rooted yet contemporary environment. Drawing from vernacular forms— courtyards, shaded arcades, and natural materials—and integrating climate responsive and digital storytelling strategies, the design enhances visitor engagement. Inspired by precedents like Chokhi Dhani, Dilli Haat, and Kala Bhoomi, the hub is zoned into craft galleries, performance arenas, food courts, and eco-conscious accommodations. The project highlights architecture’s role in cultural storytelling and sustainable tourism development. Keywords: Culture, Tourism, Odisha heritage. |
