| dc.description.abstract | Wellness is a holistic state of physical, mental, and emotional well-being, deeply influenced by the environments we inhabit. In today's world, where people spend most of their time indoors, the built environment plays a critical role in shaping our health. However, modern design often disconnects us from nature, making it harder to achieve balance and well-being. In the Ayurvedic context, healing is closely tied to the natural environment, sensory experiences, and elemental harmony. This thesis, PRANA: A Design Exploration of Healing Environments in an Ayurvedic Context, Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, explores how architecture can restore this connection through climate-responsive, sustainable, and nature-integrated design that supports holistic wellness.
