General body meeting of the IUDI.

Abstract

Institute of Urban Designers India (IUDI) held its General Body Meeting at the Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 19th March, 2016. The members were welcomed by the President of IUDI who stressed on the quality and uniformity of Urban Design education standards in the country. He emphasized on taking up Pro Bono work as part of consolidating the presence of the Institute as a professional body. The Secretary in his address presented various activities that IUDI has undertaken in the previous year and gave an account of the future activities which are lined up including the ‘Cities in the East’ international conference that IUDI is proposing to host. The past President and the Secretary discussed how the Institute has evolved in the last few years. Proposal for an Institute journal was laid out in detail and deliberated upon. Professional projects undertaken by IUDI were discussed and the role of young professionals was emphasized in another presentation. IUDI website launching was also discussed by the concerned coordinator of the sub-committee working on this.
