Abstract: Children’s museums are places where children learn through play and exploration in environments designed just for them. Reflecting their diverse communities, children’s museums create playful, interactive learning experiences. In an increasingly complex world, children’s museums provide a place where all kids can learn through play with the caring adults in their lives. The aim of my project is to design a children’s museum on the Sabarmati riverfront that encourages children to explore, inspire and also promote curiosity. It will hold various themes based exhibits in the galleries and also include many informal playing and sitting spaces which would be acting as interaction zones. The project is a part of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation (SRFDCL), which is a multidimensional on-going project with an aim to of environmental improvement, social upliftment, and urban rejuvenation. This development reclaims the banks of river Sabarmati, making the entire stretch of river publicly accessible. The project provides more than ten kilometres of uninterrupted pedestrian promenade on each bank and ghats for direct access to the water.
