Hotel design: sheraton hotel, Gift City Gujrat

Abstract

With the egression of the smart city concept throughout the world, India puts its foot forward with GIFT (Gujarat International Finance Tec-) city located on the Ahmedabad - Gandhinagar corridor in Gujarat. This smart city aims to capitalize on the potential of financial and business services by inviting global business with world-class infrastructure and facilities. The future city will provide its residents with a sustainable environment and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Green buildings will therefore be typical of this city. In the hospitality department, a 5-star hotel of 25+ storeys and spreading over 60,000 square feet is proposed. This has been chosen for design thesis in the 9th semester. The RFP document for the chosen project of a 5-star hotel has been attached with this synopsis. This project has been taken up by Ahmedabad based West India Hospitality for construction and Starwood‟s Sheraton will be the name seen at the site.
