Abstract: | A culture of having new Shopping Malls in the city is growing day by day. It seems fascinating in terms of luxury shopping, branded products and change in lifestyle of the society, but on the other hand it is limited to a few numbers of users only. If a middle class or low income group person is noticed, then what we get is that, he would visit a local marketplace for their daily needs. It is because of their high number of variety of products and low cost products. With the rising economy of India, there is a constant rise in demand of organized retail sectors. But at present, there are a majority of people who rely on the local markets, due to above mentioned reasons. With the rise in population, cities are expanding in all the available directions, and with that, retails sectors are in demand. But, if we keep on copy pasting these modern retail sectors (Shopping Malls, super markets, etc.) they will address, demands of a majority number of users around, which will again increase load on local markets. To overcome this issue, redesigning a community scale shopping center in such a way that it caters all the users, from high income group to low income group, might provide us with a solution and a key model for upcoming projects in India, which may differ from region to region in terms of its climate and traditional elements but will remain same in terms of its concept. |
