Abstract: As one gets past the age 60, area of influence and ability to access distant places decreases. This is due to weakening of bones and development of various heart and sensory related diseases which decreases reception and reaction. During this time one tends to isolate themselves due to fear of falling and decreased independence. To remain physically and mentally healthy it is very much required to live in a community which is adaptive to the needs of an elderly and includes different kinds of social spaces. One needs to understand the environment which challenges the senses to the right amount that is. without causing any stress. Such an environment also exercises the senses hence maintaining cognition. The research is inspired by the growing conviction that there is a need to pursue fresh and innovative approaches to retirement living design. Propelled by the idea of reviving its image in society, and suturing the severed physical and social connections to the city, this project explores architecture’s role in achieving these aspirations
