Abstract: A museum is an institution devoted to conserving and interpreting the foremost tangible and intangible heritages of humankind, human activities and it’s environment. In the current era, it's, in fact, a rigid purpose built structure enjoying a large-scale capital and resource investment which in return is seen as a factor inducing socio-cultural and socio-economic growth in the city. In the twenty-first century, museum making is multidisciplinary, multifaceted as it cuts across a range of professional practices and disciplines. This thesis seeks to design a National War Museum in New Delhi, a built structure honouring the bravura and glory of Indian Armed Forces. Designing a built mass which symbolises their principle values and sacrifices, inspiring fellow countrymen towards nation building therein interpreted as the abstraction of these qualities itself. The Design program is intended towards Symbolising premier qualities of our Proud Armed Forces in conjuncture to site's contextual sensibilities of the upscale heritage neighbourhood.
