dc.description.abstract | A bus station is a structure where city or state buses stop to pick up and drop off passengers. A bus terminus is a designated place where a bus or coach starts or ends its scheduled route. The terminus is the designated place that a timetable is timed from. Termini can be located at bus stations, interchanges, bus garages or simple bus stops. Termini can both start and stop at the same place, or may be in different locations for starting and finishing a route. Termini may or may not coincide with the use of bus stands. The aim of my thesis is to understand the planning criteria to design the intercity bus terminal in Indian context with an objective to do an extensive literature review on inter- state bus terminal in Indian scenario, to develop an understanding on various architectural approaches in the design of ISBT, to do a live case study of ISBT in Chandigarh & Delhi, to develop an understanding of various development concern involved in the design of ISBT & to develop Conclusion and implementation. The literature study on Lisbon Station (Spain), & ISBT Chennai is done which help to give design solution for the design site i.e ISBT Hyderabad. | en_US |
