Abstract: | Today, the modern day man is a slave to his routine, following an illusion pursuing materialistic wealth while ignoring his mental health. Depression levels and anxiety levels are sky rocketing. Wellness is often overlooked. A physical pain/ injury is looked at immediately and taken care of. Whereas mental health is often ignored to the side line. Keeping the mental health in shape automatically keeps your physical health in check. The definition for resort is a place that is frequented for holidays or recreation or for a particular purpose. A wellness resort would be defined as a place that is frequented for healing session while on a vacation. Healing can be done in many ways. I have considered yoga, meditation, shinrin-yoku (forest therapy) as my mediums to achieve wellness in my resort. A general study on biophilic design has been done in order to have a better understanding of healing that occurs when one spends time with nature. |
