Abstract: Mass transit transportation, such as buses and trains, plays a crucial role in the daily lives of people in India. It offers opportunities for creating new memories and receiving feedback. However, Indian railways often lack essential facilities, making travel challenging for passengers. The elderly population forms an important segment of Indian Railways' passengers. Over time, they have become increasingly reliant on trains for both their livelihood and leisure activities. Unfortunately, elderly travelers face numerous challenges during their train journeys. Although Indian Railways has introduced various facilities like wheelchairs, low berth quotas, and concessions, the process of availing these services is often complex and poorly structured. As a result, many people are unaware of these provisions. With approximately 2.3 crore people traveling on Indian Railways daily, it is estimated that around 3-4 percent of commuters are differently-abled and require disabled-friendly facilities at stations. It is crucial to address the accessibility needs of this segment to ensure their safety and comfort while traveling. By prioritizing the needs of elderly , Indian Railways can provide a more seamless and enjoyable travel experience for everyone
