Abstract: | This project provides shelter, care, mental health services, and resources for women to overcome trauma and achieve financial independence. It offers immediate crisis support, trauma-informed care, and skills for economic self-sufficiency, aiding in their transition to permanent housing. Rehabilitation focuses on psychological healing and promoting environments for hobby development. Architecture plays a crucial role in the healing process within healthcare settings by influencing patient outcomes such as comfort, recovery time, and stress levels. Incorporating biophilic design elements like natural light, open spaces, and views of nature has been shown to reduce stress and enhance recovery. Sensory design further enhances this by engaging all senses through the thoughtful use of materials, colors, and natural elements, creating environments that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This holistic approach fosters a connection to nature, essential for reducing stress and anxiety in increasingly urbanized settings, ultimately supporting overall health and comfort. Designing a rehabilitation centre aims to create a supportive, calming environment that aids in women's recovery, blending functionality with spaces that positively impact mental and emotional well-being. This approach addresses societal challenges faced by women, offering not only mental health services but also skills training, financial independence, and pathways to permanent housing. Integrating green pockets and water features, such as central courtyards and a small pond, provides patients with relaxing environments that connect them to nature. Courtyards in each block address Rajasthan's heat by facilitating airflow, providing shade, and conserving water, creating communal spaces. Jaali windows and façades allow light and air while minimizing heat and rain, promoting passive ventilation and adding aesthetic appeal. Evaporative cooling systems enhance indoor air quality by expelling hot air and pollutants, introducing fresh, cool air. Healing gardens offer serene sanctuaries for relaxation and mindfulness, promoting holistic well-being and stress relief. |
