Abstract: This study explores the application of circular economy principles in solid waste management for the first five wards of Bhopal, aiming to reduce waste generation, promote resource recovery, and create sustainable waste management systems. The research assesses the current waste management practices, identifies opportunities for circular economic interventions, and evaluates the potential environmental, economic, and social benefits of adopting circular economy approaches. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining field surveys, stakeholder interviews, and life cycle assessment to analyze the waste management system in the study area. The findings of this research can inform policy recommendations for local authorities, waste management agencies, and stakeholders to adopt circular economy strategies in solid waste management, promoting a more sustainable and resilient urban environment.
