In Indian State the High Court being the Highest Seat of Authority of Judiciary in the state. In case of Uttar Pradesh it has been observed that there is only one high court in Allahabad with one main Bench of High court at Lucknow which covers 11 districts and lacks in handling session of courts efficiently because of lacking of courts spaces and court rooms both at High court as well as at Bench level. The high court is the supreme governing body of the state, analogous to what Supreme Court is to a country. Soon Uttar Pradesh will be divided into four parts in coming years hence each State requires their High courts for dispute resolution of peoples. Four main Stats will be Madhyanchal, purvanchal, Haritprades and bundelkhand and my study area is Madhyanchal. Current Bench will be High court very soon and condition of Bench Building is not at all up to the mark of modern times because it had constructed in British time hence this building campus required up gradation of building design or proposal of new High court building. So Thesis aims at designing of Court Block, Lawyers chambers and administrative Block at Vibhuti khand Gomati Nagar with fusion of Modern Indian architecture and old Lucknow architecture. The Objectives are to study to study the operational activities in the court, To study all the space requirements and space standards pertaining to the court, Identify the spatial relation between various areas in the court, Study more about the various services based in high court research, to design within the given parameters. The Design and Study was carried out in different stages with the literature review, case studies, site visits and collection of data related to High courts and identifying key issues of the site and design requirements of the buildings on basis of analysis of collected data, site visits and observation received from various users of the building including High Court Judges. During conceptual stage various architectural elements of modern architecture style were studied which will be incorporate in designing of these buildings. And the main focus of designing buildings is that building should be grand, mighty & imposing. It will be designed to reflect the immense authority of the judicial system. While great importance has been given to imposing form for demonstrating authority, the planning aspect has also been taken care of. The result is a functionally efficient building with smooth functioning of the day to day activities of the High Court. The Proposal covers the designing of the Court complex including Court Block, Lawyers chambers and Administrative block which is iconic and caters everyday function so as to carry out its smooth functioning of the works of the Courts. The planning of spaces has been done in such a manner that all activities are segregated & no two activities are disturbing each other. To achieve such planning whole complex is divided into three parts First Zone has the main building having courts, chambers for. Judges. Second Zone has lawyer’s blocks and other important support facilities. Third Zone comprises of Administrative Buildings and other important facilities. Planning and Designing of whole site and buildings is done in such way that it will be environmental friendly and sustainable and reflect the ethos and heritage of the state of Lucknow while incorporating modern functions and technologies and layout also has scope to accommodate future growth and changing requirements over time. | en_US |
