Abstract: | This thesis project deals with the complete stages involved in the design of an Information Technology Park proposed to be built at Special Economic Zone, Phase II, shimoga, Karnataka. The project is a live project to be built in the newly converted suburbs of shimoga which were earlier agricultural lands. The thesis involves the complete architectural designing of the site from the site planning stage onwards to final design consideration of preparing presentation drawings of the expected result and a comprehensive report on the thesis. This thesis follows a strict framework based on most widely sought after design theories and methodologies. Such a framework is mainly derived from the logical application of the problem. Extensive and meticulous case studies were conducted before the initiation of planning phase which made it easier to follow a framework. Care was taken that all the positive attributes namely site topography, climatological factors and other existing validities were given equal and diligent importance. All the parameters were co-related with one another to form a list of requirements which were then followed upon in the first draft as the project basic requirements. They were then carefully worked upon repetitively and other attributes such sustainability, aesthetic elements were also added to the existing framework depending on the context of the project. All the afore mentioned steps has been done to provide the reader with a clear idea of how the whole thesis was formulated and worked upon since the beginning to the design proposal. |
