New town kolkata development authority administrative building

Abstract

This thesis project involves designing an administrative building for the Development Authority of New Town Kolkata, a fast developing satellite city on the outskirts of Kolkata which is primarily an IT town and residential hub. The author has attempted to explore the nuances of designing a landmark building in an existing site context involving strong cultural associations through background studies, case studies (live and literature), site analysis and has come up with a concept and a detailed design proposal for the project.
