Defense Architecture is evidentially present in India. There are several forts constructed by rulers in order to safeguard their Kingdom. Forts play a crucial role in protection of a region or territory. A Gadh is a defense structure which consists of fortress, bastions, canon holders and several other components which create defense buffers. In the constant struggle for power, forts and fortified settlements were a potent symbol of authority. Thus, in ancient India as elsewhere, forts were the measure of Monarch's strength.en_US
