dc.description.abstractThe Ramgarh tal is an oxbow lake formed by Rapti river situated towards eastern end of Gorakhpur city in Uttar Pradesh. The research is based on lake restoration while keeping in mind ecological methods and effects of the lake and its surrounding on urban health. The main cause of the health issues here is urbanization but as we all know urban development in every city bring opportunity as well as challenges. This rapid urban growth and sprawling has crashed the existing infrastructure and due to its failure even insignificant issues have taken gigantic form, making it very difficult for the managing authorities and this eventually effects the locals and their health, directly or indirectly. The report elaborates the causes and impacts of rapid urbanization on the natural environment as well as public health. Worst incidences in the past and analysis of the current conditions have come together to shape the policy for the lakeen_US
