The thesis deals with the design of the campus of a fashion institute in the city of Bhopal – National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhopal. The project was proposed by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India in the year 2007. The project aims to develop a design solution which tries to reinterpret the way institutes are designed in India, following a student-centric approach. It looks to design spaces that can relate the fields of fashion and architecture. The project also seeks to work on spaces that inspire people to design and instill an interest in their particular field of study, which in this case is fashion. The major challenge in the project was the topography of the land and the scale of the built mass that it had to accommodate. Façade treatment has been chosen as the advanced objective and the concepts of the same have been applied to the design.en_US
