Pondicherry is one of the most popular tourist destinations in South India. The city has many beautiful colonial buildings, churches, temples, and statues which, combined with the systematic town planning and the well planned French style avenues, still preserve much of the colonial ambiance. Pondicherry is also a popular weekend destination. It is a blend of spiritual aura, French colonial heritage, Tamil culture, virgin beaches and the cosmopolitan flair of many nationalities in a small but varied city. Pondicherry public buildings (government and institutional) are not outstanding edifices because they are recent, the best monumental structures of the Dupleix’s period having been destroyed by the British in 1761, but the town is noteworthy for its domestic architecture which shows the coexistence of two distinct styles – that of the French and that of the native Tamil. Resort at Backwaters, Pondicherry is a recreational project. The site is located Ariyankuppam Backwaters in Pondicherry. It is a 30 acre site. And land use here is farming. In this project resorts are designed as per the courtyard planning and all other building are porous in nature for good circulation wind and for proper light. The site is designed keeping in mind the best view points available on the site, so that all the guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the place.en_US
