After 3.8 billion years of evolution Nature has become supremely efficient and sustainable
by carrying forward what works, what is appropriate and what lasts making a better future for
their future generation. We, to get better living conditions and leisure, happiness, comfort
and greed doing all those unwanted activities and causing a harmful impact on the
environment and making the living condition very adverse for itself and all other species on
earth at present. We all know that in nature nothing goes waste – EVERY BY-PRODUCT
BECOMES FOOD FOR OTHER (HUI 2005).
A biological system for example utilizes energy and resources skillfully and recycles waste
while balancing compositions with materials and structures (EDWARDS 2002) to fit the
ecosystem in a holistic manner. Indisputably Nature offers countless example of holism
because design present in Nature is not a collection of parts but a synthesis of a whole
(ALEXANDER 1977).
The smart city mission of the Government of India seeks to address the issue of
urbanization through the transformation of selected cities. The intent is to create sustainable
cities that can provide a good quality life to its citizens. So for the partial fulfillment of the
requirements for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Architecture the site chosen by me
is one among the 20 lighthouse cities of India, chosen by smart city commission to be
developed as first smart city in India, which is Bhopal. The plot chosen by me in this Smart
City project is Plot No. 77 & 78. The basic idea developed behind creating a mixed-Use high
rise building on this plot is of Energy Efficiency, which is a part of sustainability. List of
software‘s have been used for simulations at the conceptual stage of design development
through which the orientation, shape, size and height of the building has been decided
beforehand. At the later stage various other design strategies of energy-efficiency have
been used to make the building much more energy efficient. It‘s interesting to see the final
3d model of the building as much work have done on the façade or elevation of the building. |
