dc.description.abstract Co-working is acknowledged as a “style of working” as well as the “physical space”, where the workers belonging to different organizations work in a shared workspace, which is a critical foundation for independent, mobile or knowledge workers consuming shared infrastructure and amenities. In fact, it is the elusive quality of ‘working-alonetogether’ behaviour that is the source of growing knowledge and shared economy. However, the question which arises is that what importance co-working spaces hold in urban planning and for the policy makers. This question leads to the examination of various interrelations such as the implications of co-working spaces on land use and transport policy, or the relation between the co-working spaces locations, residential locations and urban mobility. The reason behind the certain spatial locations springing up as the hotspots for the co-working spaces also needs to be assessed. The exploration of contribution these co-working spaces make to the urban economy while encouraging the knowledge economy is a subject of research interest. India is swiftly turning into a strategic point for co-working spaces. The important drivers for co-working spaces in our country are cost, framework and system administration opening with a view of expanding knowledge sector. Of potential market estimate, the aggregate market measure for co-working spaces over six noteworthy urban communities of Delhi NCR, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune is roughly five million. The study will explore the following aspects: a) The relationship among co-working model, spatial environment and urban infrastructure. b) The impact of co-working spaces on urban economy. c) The recommendation of spatial strategy and promotional framework for it. en_US
