Abstract:
In India, Education is the only tool for eradicating poverty, illiteracy and other social
disturbances. Education is not only important for the quality of living but for the overall
progress and development of the country. The conventional education system introduced
during colonial period emphasizes much on similar set of skills to produce standardized
individuals set up to do repetitive work. There is a need for schools that are different from
the mainstream manner of teaching and that work around interactive teaching and greater
individual attention, encourage learning beyond the academic, invite introspection and
emphasize on qualitative rather than quantitative education. As the Telangana social welfare. Residential educations have come up with an initiative to reframe the educational system, this turned as a great opportunity for me to design an outstanding government school with an alternative approach.
The focus of the study is to design the school building and hostel block.
With a Non-Conventional approach. This study also focuses on Non-Conventional learning
spaces in design. This study also addresses the alternative school philosophies, curriculum and
recommended few suggestions that would help in reframing the conventional pedagogy and
curriculum of the school. The thesis report showcases the detailed design methodology from
site selection to final design proposals.
