Abstract:
In a built environment, creating a relationship between cultural and arts is a challenge for both designers and communities. In our everyday lives culture is rooted into various inhibitions. I believe that a designer needs to have a deep knowledge of any architectural background context in order to be more conscious of his/her own work towards the communities and their culture. For this reason it is important to study the material and immaterial aspects of a place in terms of their culture performing through their skills through art forms before any design. Therefore, concentrating on a specific architectural design solution, I have chosen my attention to the study terms of tangible and intangible features in performing arts of LADAKH. Which are responding for both climatic and cultural attributes of the society. Scholars and architects are more exposed to the cultural influences by which traditional methods of living can influence the contemporary scenarios to bring bigger and healthier built environments in the society. I have chosen the Indian state of Ladakh since its location in the Himalayas is putting it in a wider interdisciplinary area of research about their cultural. Earth is a key element in the Ladakhi constructions, another factor that has influenced the background of the design field was performing arts in Ladakh.
