Abstract:
Setting up railway university was the first project that prime minister (pm) Narendra Modi had
announced for Vadodara from where he had contested the Lok Sabha polls in 2014 which
he had relinquished later in favour of Varanasi. It was on October 22, 2016 that pm had
announced the project while inaugurating the new integrated terminal building of Vadodara
airport. The campus of India’s first railway university and third such in the world after Russia
and Japan.

NET ZERO CAMPUS
What is net zero?
A singular or a community of buildings for which, annually, all greenhouse gas emissions
produced through the building operations are offset by carbon-free energy production.

How to meet energy needs?
After calculation of the total energy need of the campus, it can be divided into two parts. The
first part of the energy needs will be dealt with on campus green energy production. Second
part will be calculated by subtracting total energy need with on campus energy generation.
The second part will be catered by external green energy which will be delivered to the
campus.
WAYFINDING IN EDUCATIONAL SETTING
Wayfinding in architecture incorporating wayfinding principles and architecture elements for
institutional setting in the design to enhance the user experience as well as the overall
design to make a lasting impact on the users.
