dc.description.abstract Time to time question is asked what revitalization is. So, first, we need to understand what is revitalization and what is the role it does play in the context of development. The universal definition for revitalization is given as imparting a new life to something. Revitalization helps to create a new life in a specific area where the revitalization is taking place which in turn spreads to its surrounding areas. This effect is continuing to spread in surrounding districts or areas. The main purpose of the revitalization has been seen to reuse the existing structures and land to renew the urban fabric while also inventing the new elements and concept which can be tied together with the future needs the past uses of an area. More effectively utilizing land and resources and redeveloping old or abandoned areas while preserving existing infrastructure can produce economic benefits for developers of real estate and buyers, companies, and local governments. Walkable neighborhoods have very well connected streets and a variety of land uses adjacent to each other, making it desirable not just to walk but also to bike and transit and more convenient. This thesis will aim to understand the urban issues created due to encroachment and dilapidated structures. Due to the pressures of urbanization, historic urban settlements are experiencing rapid change and decline. Due to these stresses, the historic center has become fragile over the century. Historical core decay also occurs in the overcrowding, sense of extreme density, and invasions. The conversion of the public square into a smaller area results in the lack of people's interaction. There was always a question as to whether planning should take historical trends into account in any urban project. Today, the preservation and revitalization of the historic center is a critical problem as its survival is challenged by the changing urban fabric. Firstly examine the characteristics of the core area of the selected city by identify different parameters to analyze various issues and challenges and finding relevant tools and techniques for the revitalization of the core city area. The site of this study will be Prayagraj, so first we will understand the issue of that city core. And how much the revitalization of the commercial area of city core is important. As, the 70% of the economy of the city generated from the commercial area of the city core. Understanding the importance of the commercial area and how to improvise and provide an intervention that will boost the economy of the city. en_US
