Anjana River, the river Jalangi's primary east side tributary stream that has now become a shallow canal. According to documents from the Nadia district, the then-fluid river Anjana was the only way to go from one side of the district to the other, and it also kept the water balance between the rivers Jalangi and Churni during the monsoon. From antiquity to the present, it made significant contributions to the district of Nadia's riparian system. Throughout its illustrious history, Bengal's commerce has made several contributions to civilization, particularly in the areas of merchant life and water transportation. In addition, the river helped the Zamindars with regular water supply for day to day work and also to retain high ground water level. It used for transportation for the city and also water of anjana rives, playes a important role in the water balance between the two rivers jalangi and churni . As a result, the hydrological equilibrium was not disrupted. However, due to natural and artificial forces, the normal flow of the river Anjana changed over time, leading the river to a dead drainage system — which is "khal" or canal. The study's main concerns are identifying the causes and their effects and the concern remedy for it. |
