dc.description.abstract Relationship of human with nature indeed is that human itself is a part of "Nature", which is beautifully created for enhancement of the world, but this interrelationship is broken and diverted more towards urbanism, industrialization and pressures of global population growth, migration and present significant climatic issues which can negatively impact the health of the people and cities. These pressures are more evident in midsize global cities, where there are often significant conflicts between the development of human infrastructure and the maintenance of natural ecosystems. The conflict / landscape degradation of city leads to major environmental degradation, uncontrolled and unplanned urban development, and the lack of public awareness. Surat is known as an industrial hub and as one of the most densely populated areas. Maximum economic development has occurred in thecity, where the Pandesara area is regarded as a highly dense industrial area as a result of a lack of human relationships. Pandesara was once a small village in the Surat district, but with the establishment of industry, it grew into a large commercial hub. Bhedwad canal / khadi is one of the most important features in Pandesara as it is the only feature which can bring people nearer to nature and its water system, which impacts on the whole area. Unfortunately, since the unregulated growth of urbanization, the canal has suffered from massive amounts of pollution. As a result, the canal has been turned into a dumping ground, and there is no connection between humans and nature in this area. Moreover, the problem has existed for a long time, resulting in extensive sewerage and garbage pilling the canals. It also has an impact on the health and quality of life of the people who work and live there. What is the future of people's health? How can we bring change and improve the canal and its surrounding area? This thesis studied ecological and sustainable approaches to revitalizing the standard of living of people by connecting them with nature and also the water system by using intensive site analysis and site planning for effective design strategies. en_US
