This thesis primarily focuses on the eco-tourism aspects of the architecture. Its essence lies in the development of a tourism hub in terms of all impacting factor. The selection of village, its development factors and funding to
the project is justified by Himachal Pradesh Tourism, India. The project comes in consideration of development of Chansal( highest peak of Shimla) as an International skiing destination, in vision of making it accessible
through ropeway, where Dhamwari village act as a base station for the same. While this village lies in Pabbar valley know as commerce hub of Shimla famous for its apple orchard, trout fish farms, waterfalls, it’s kath kuni architecture, it’s wooden carving Predominantly, Dhamwari is known for its trout fish farms with most of its population engaged in apple farming or some other jobs. The village lies in the vicinity of Pabbar river with splendid views of Chansal and other mountain ranges. The projects aims to provide facilities for visitors and travellers such that it create minimal impacts to the site and it’s surrounding.
The aim of this thesis is to develop Dhamwari village, on the lines of Eco-tourism, in order to give the tourist an outlook of their culture and also to promote it, and to withstand the future aspects of the places by providing them amenities with respect to the village, climate and its architecture. |
