dc.description.abstract Convention Centres generate significant economic, political, and social issues for theoretical and applied studies, yet there is limited literature in this area. The issues include feasibility and funding, design and construction, and operations and marketing. The historical development of convention business proven to be essential to the growth of economy of the city. The centre would be mainly public as well as catering the needs of all industrial units in terms of Convention, Training and Entrainment activities. In the last decade or so, India has seen year-on-year growth in tourist arrivals. Meetings and Conference market segment has been identified as one of the new growth market segment by many analysts. India will soon be competing with the best of the international markets in many industries including meeting and exhibition industry by attracting business arising from international summits, accords and conventions. But does India have those facilities to accommodate the different types of clients that such events bring in? Can India compete with other international markets like China, Singapore and Rio de Janeiro to host events of international stature? India’s recent development in the convention space, the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and Mahatma Mandir at Gandhi nagar still does not compete to the larger developments in the world. There is no international convention centre at Noida so this project can be considered to be one of the most ambitious projects of the Noida The setting up of the convention centre will help in further capitalising the vast entrepreneurial spirit of the region by providing a single platform to showcase Indian goods and products at the national as well as on the international level. The convention centre offers vast opportunity to the entrepreneurs, importers, and exporters to form a network with their fellow counterparts both within and Abstract Wave City Convention Centre , Noida iii outside India while having direct exposure and interaction with their prospective customers to take their business to newer heights. This design will focus on the self- sustainability of the centre by reducing the consumption of non- renewable sources of energy. en_US
