dc.description.abstract Numerous scholars have underscored the significance of open and unbuilt community spaces in residential developments. Despite their essential role, these areas are often overlooked in contemporary planning, and labeled as afterthoughts. In the rapidly growing Indian context, these spaces, vital for socially active communities, are diminishing due to the pressure of accommodating a growing population and migration. While traditionally developed Indian cities inherently featured such spaces, current residential environments are losing them. Because of their inherent order, these areas were common in traditional Indian cities, offering psychological, physical, and social belonging to people. Some recognised designers' contemporary housing developments have successfully incorporated effectively designed neighbourhood surroundings. The research compares multiple identified projects with the goal of developing strategies appropriate for the present Indian environment, creating neighborhood comfort and an overall sense of belonging among inhabitants. In response to the evolving demands of urban living, this project aims to revolutionize residential neighborhood design through the introduction of an innovative model for community-centric living in the emerging township of Dhun, located near Jaipur. The primary focus of this endeavor is to create a residential neighborhood that integrates both built and open spaces in a thoughtful cluster design, catering to the diverse needs of its residents. It includes designing of varying housing typologies and the neighborhood amenities to complement the community space structure.
