Abstract:
Ecotourism is a fresh approach to tourism, focusing on visiting natural areas to appreciate their cultural and environmental significance while also providing economic benefits to local communities. In Madhya Pradesh, tourism is on the rise due to various government and private efforts. My thesis focuses on a government-led project by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) aimed at promoting tourism and boosting the economy, particularly in the picturesque Satpura range in Mandla district, near Pachmarhi, known as "The Queen of Satpura Range".
Tourism offers a range of experiences, from adventurous activities to stunning views and pilgrimage sites. It has the potential to generate revenue, create jobs, spur regional development, bridge income gaps, and contribute to poverty alleviation. Nowadays, tourists seek experiences that connect them with nature and culture while also supporting conservation efforts. This desire has fueled the rapid growth of ecotourism, reflecting a growing environmental consciousness in holiday choices. The challenge lies in balancing aesthetic and environmental concerns, as well as managing risks and opportunities, to preserve resources for future generations
