dc.description.abstract Sustainable architectural design is increasingly crucial in the face of environmental concerns, particularly within sensitive coastal ecosystems like those found in Andhra Pradesh. This research focuses on the design of a luxury eco beach resort situated on Perupalem Beach in Andhra Pradesh, India. The government-proposed project aims to promote coastal tourism development while emphasizing sustainability principles. The design process draws inspiration from the rich vernacular architecture of Andhra Pradesh, incorporating elements from traditional houses and the "Manduva Logili" style. Key features include internal courtyards that promote natural ventilation and daylighting, reducing the resort's energy footprint. The design prioritizes passive strategies, sustainable materials, and a sensitive integration with the coastal landscape. This thesis explores the balance between luxurious amenities and environmentally responsible design. It examines how vernacular architectural principles can be reinterpreted for contemporary hospitality spaces, contributing to a sustainable model for coastal tourism development. The project demonstrates the potential for architecture to enhance the guest experience while minimizing environmental impact, offering a blueprint for future resort developments in sensitive coastal regions. The study builds upon existing research into sustainable materials, architectural heritage, and effective construction techniques suitable for eco-resorts along the coast of Andhra Pradesh. It aims to synthesize these findings into cohesive design principles, promoting a sustainable future for tourism and architecture in the regio en_US
