dc.description.abstract This thesis focuses on designing a dementia daycare and residential facility that prioritizes holistic care, functionality, comfort, and aesthetics. The project aims to create an inviting and supportive environment for individuals with dementia, incorporating both indoor and outdoor spaces designed to promote well-being and engagement. The facility will also aim to cater to the needs of caregivers and medical professionals, providing spaces that support their well-being and efficiency. Additionally, the design integrates various non-pharmacological therapies and ensures safety and accessibility throughout. Grounded in the principles of salutogenesis, the project focuses on creating environments that enhance health and well-being by supporting individuals' intellectual, physical, and emotional needs. By integrating therapeutic, recreational, and daily living spaces, the design aims to foster a sense of coherence among residents, helping them understand, manage, and find meaning in their experiences. The design also emphasizes community integration, encouraging the involvement of family members and the local community to create a supportive network around the residents. This thesis aspires to set a standard for future dementia care facilities, fostering dignity, independence, and community integration while providing a model for holistic dementia care that can be replicated in various contexts.
