Abstract:
This study proposes the creation of a Tribal Craft Center in Kerala, India, aimed at preserving and promoting the traditional arts and crafts of multiple tribal communities. Kerala is known for its rich cultural heritage, and its tribal communities, including the Paraya, Paniya, Alar, and Kadar tribes, possess unique skills in bamboo pottery, instrument crafting, and other traditional crafts. The proposed center will serve as a hub for showcasing these crafts, providing a platform for tribal artisans to exhibit and sell their products, and offering training programs to enhance their skills. Additionally, the center will focus on cultural exchange, tourism promotion, and sustainability practices to ensure the long-term preservation and economic empowerment of these tribal communities. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to celebrate and safeguard indigenous cultures while fostering socio-economic development and environmental stewardship in the region.
