Abstract:
This thesis investigates the architectural design of a vocational school in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, aiming to create a dynamic learning environment that bridges academic education with skill-based training. Situated within an educational zone on Bhadbhada Road, the project addresses the growing demand for inclusive, context-sensitive, and future-oriented educational infrastructure. The design process is informed by a comprehensive study of the site’s micro, meso, and macro context, alongside climate responsiveness, user-centric planning, and evidence-based design strategies. Through a spatial organization that supports both theoretical learning and hands-on vocational training, the school is envisioned as a flexible and accessible campus that encourages engagement, creativity, and community participation. The thesis further explores the integration of safety, inclusivity, and sustainability into educational spaces, reimagining the vocational school as a holistic, adaptive environment that nurtures both individual potential and collective growth.
