Abstract:
The word habitat means “a natural place of growth of a plant or an animal”. Man
being a social animal requires a friendly habitat to survive and thrive in. In India people
don't have proper spaces to live. Various institutions like HUDCO, BMPTC, CBRI etc
are working to provide comfortable living environment and also improving the existing
settlements. So there is a need to bring all these organizations under one roof both
physically as well as functionally.
One such Institution is the Indian Habitat Centre, a interesting collage of office
and socio cultural spaces. There is need for more such spaces. One more proposed is
the Hyderabad Habitat Centre. Organizations working for habitat related issues are
actually trying to develop a better environment for all. So building like the habitat centre
which houses such organizations must be an environment friendly facility. Furthermore
only three office buildings in Hyderabad are LEED Platinum rated and the site is located
in Hitex area of Hyderabad which is rapidly developing but the rate of environment
friendly facilities are quiet less.
Development is very important for us humans to grow but development as these
will only darken our future as well as other species on earth. Thus to motivate the
people and the surrounding development towards a more environment friendly
approach the Hyderabad Habitat Centre will aim to develop a energy and sustainable
facility and as well provide a space for these organizations to thrive and grow in a
collaborative environment and a space which amalgamates nature and work to develop
a stress free as well productive environment.
