dc.description.abstract Growing enclaved urban developments are spatial manifestation of various divides and fear manifesting in society today. These highly introverted and often unsustainable developments are altering our urban experience. Though these developments individually boast of perfections, they remain largely within their boundaries and what really happens to the larger urban fabric dominated by them is creation of a dreary landscape of an un-relatable, apathetic, exclusionary urban environment. Areas with no to little street life, tolerance for varied people and activities, dead edges, compromised safety are created with altogether missing platform for social interaction for people from different walks of life. These all result in indifferent citizenship and an unsustainable society changing our urban experience adversely. However, enclaves today have become a reality which cannot be ignored. As such, this study makes an inquiry into the possibility of creating the opportunities to celebrate the urban life, salvage urbanity in midst of gates, walls and security. It is an attempt at humanizing the urban environment predominantly occupied by enclaves. en_US
