The term fort is taken from the Latin word fortis or forte which mean strong. In the early, the Sanskrit term of the fort is Durga which means unapproachable. Fort is defined as a fortified Building for the protection and security of its dwellers. The forts were primarily used for defense but their influences became a symbol of prestige for the rulers.
