Abstract:
In today’s emerging scenario of fast pace and advance world, education sector is emerges as one of the fastest growing field and its institutes are the platform for getting these essential element. Today, educational institutes can’t be limit as just a building block or a group of buildings, it is nowadays depends on various factor such as proper campus design, the connectivity of various departments, their functionality, circular movement, proper light and ventilation to the building units, interactive spaces and vice versa. These are the various factors which are very much essential for an educational institute and Polytechnic College is among them.
Polytechnic college is one of the prime institutes of the technical education. In Madhya Pradesh, polytechnic college is provided mostly in every district and it is the prime institute of technical studies. The campus of polytechnic college consists of various blocks such as Administrative block, Academic block, Residential area, Interactive spaces and recreational area. So, to have proper approach to them and their proper inter-connectivity is the key element of campus design including various open and semi-open spaces. Apart from that, various workshops are also the important part of this institute, so it is very much important to have the detailed study of various workshops.
In order to enhance the sustainability of the building it is very much important to improvise many innovative and passive techniques in the building. So, to increase the approximity of the passive elements, various passive design techniques have been introduced in the building so as to increase its productivity and to make building energy efficient. Inclusive of all the above factors, challenge is to design an educational campus whose spaces are well distributed according to their work requirement and space connectivity. Proper linkage is important and also to create a building unit which is energy efficient, having a proper ambience which provides fresh environment to the students.
