dc.description.abstract In the ages of cultural deterioration, the rudimentary music of Palakkad has well-maintained it's sanctity as a traditional art-form for means of telling folklore and welcoming seasonal Gods from time to time. One of its major variation, kanyadkali has often been regarded as a cultural language for expressing concerns within local people of Palakkad. The thesis focuses on how these traditional art forms and cultural story telling could be translated into the language of space. The conceptual framework of the thesis talks about the behaviour of people towards this music in present times. Since it is a tricky concept so further elaboration in the work has been specifically made to how the spaces could be differentiated for Palakkad than other art forms in Kerala. en_US
